Dispersed urban development and the formation of urban voids in Bauru (SP) in the second half of the 20th century

This paper examines the urbanization process in municipality of Bauru (SP), focusing analysis on phenomenon urban voids and taking as a time frame second half 20th century. Urban are remainders, idle or underutilized areas, products dispersion real estate speculation that enhance discontinuous, dispersed, fragmented sparse urbanization, pattern has also come to characterize medium-sized cities São Paulo. Based general characterization Brazilian this period, preliminary study object allows us infer that, Bauru, at peak development cycle Brazil, dissemination is directly related, one hand, action market and, other permissiveness planning incentives provided by public authorities, including significant state provision housing fringes territory.
